Angelina Tkatcheva

Angelina Tkatcheva was born in Minsk, Belarus where she began her music studies at the special music school of the State Conservatory of Belarus, playing the "zimbel" (Russian dulcimer) from the age of eight. At the age of ten, she won the 1rst price in a competition for young performers. Later she studied at the State Conservatory, obtaining her Master of Arts diploma in 1983. In the same year she was awarded a 2nd prize in an all-Union competition, in Moscow. After graduation from Minsk Music Academy, she worked as a soloist for the state concert-organization of Belarus. She gave many concerts in the U.S.S.R, Poland, Germany, Yugoslavia and performed as a soloist with the State Symphony Orchestra of Belarus. Her repertoire is very rich and includes many classical and contemporary compositions. As from 1989, she has settled in Greece where she plays in concerts, on television and teaches at the Patras Municipal Conservatory.
